Descartes has beautiful public gardens as well as a good pool and leisure facilities. La Roche Posay has a spa, a golf course and a casino.

Access
Easy to reach from the UK being only around 25km from the tgv station and A10 motorway at Chatellerault where you can get to Paris in about 1h20m. Only 67km from the airport at Poitiers with direct Ryanair flights to the UK, and about the same distance from Tours airport. 3hrs drive from the major western ferry ports.

As you enter the house, you will find a bright office/studio, two bedrooms, a shower room, a toilet, a laundry room and a large cupboard/dressing room. Upstairs, the cosy living/dining room with its fireplace insert makes for a very relaxing room. It connects to a fully fitted and equipped kitchen, as well as a third bedroom with its own ensuite shower room and toilet. The decor is tasteful, featuring exposed beams, original tiles and wooden floors,

The facade has had an recent expensive upgrade under the guidance of 'Bâtiment de France' to restore it to its former appearance with windows restored to original dimensions. To the rear of the property while there is no traditional garden, the property boasts a charming and versatile courtyard, perfect for outdoor dining and relaxation. Additional Details
There is a double gate access to the driveway in the courtyard but we tended to use it for additional outdoor dining, especially when hosting larger gatherings, but it can also accommodate a car if needed. Additionally, there is very safe and convenient street parking available directly in front of the house.
