Location
Durban Corbieres lies close to the historic city of Narbonne and the wide sandy beaches of the Mediterranean and is the perfect place to explore one of France's most beautiful and historic regions - the Languedoc.
It is at the heart of the Corbieres wine district and surrounded by vineyards and chateaux. It remains a working village which welcomes newcomers but retains its traditional culture. The village itself - which is a ten minute walk from the villa - is well served by a general store, butcher, baker, petrol station, bar and restaurant. The population is around 600 and there is a primary school, a large public swimming pool and a pharmacy and medical centre.
The Cathar trail runs through the village and follows amazing hillside castles through the region and some of the most beautiful villages in France are a short drive.
Lagrasse - recognised as one of France’s most beautiful villages with narrow streets and an ancient abbey which is well worth visiting.
Queribus castle - the last Cathar stronghold to resist the Crusaders in 1255 with wonderful views over the countryside.
Fontfroide Abbey - a lovely eleventh century Benedictine Abbey.
The world renowned African Safari Park is a short drive away and the ancient walled city of Carcassonne is a seventy five minute trip. The Spanish border is just over an hour away and Colliore is one of the highlights of the area - an historic fishing port with charming winding streets and amazing seafood. The ski resorts of the Pyrenees are around two hours away.

The villa has excellent transport links whether travelling from France, Europe or further afield. There are five airports within immediate access:
